Biography

Sabina Lang (°1972, Berne) and Daniel Baumann (°1967, San Francisco) live in Burgdorf (CH) and have been collaborating as L/B since 1990. Their body of work includes installations, sculptures, large-scale wall or floor paintings, and architectural interventions. The two artists work with a wide range of materials—wood, metal, paint, carpet and inflatable structures—but their true medium is space. Most of their works are site-specific, some are modular and can be adapted to different situations. Many of their pieces can not only be viewed but actually used as well, while others merely feign usability or artfully subvert it. Selected exhibitions include: Un été au Havre (2017), Le Havre (F), Beautiful House #2 (2017),  Le Confort Moderne, Poitiers (F), Swiss Pop Art 2016, Aargauer Kunsthaus, Aarau (CH), Tokyo Art Flow (2015), Futako Tamagawa Station area, Tokyo (JP), Entre la idea y la experiencia (2015), 12. Havana Biennial, Havana (CUB), Struktur und Zufall (2015), Wilhelm-Hack-Museum, Ludwigshafen (D), Le Futur commence ici (2013), FRAC Nord-Pas de Calais, Dunkerque (F).
