Carsten Höller (°1961, Brussels) is a German artist who lives and works in Sweden and Ghana. He began his artistic career in the 1990s and is considered to be among the artists belonging to the generation of the ‘Relational Aesthetics', as defined by the French art-critic Nicolas Bourriaud. In his work, Höller creates situations that question our typical ways of perception and provoke the exhibition visitors to interact and experiment with their senses and sensibilities. His installations aim to influence the viewer directly, pushing them to take part in an experimental situation.
